My oven is broken. Do you know what this means? No granola bars. No roasted asparagus. No challah. No brownies. This is no way to live, people. If you have a functioning oven, waste no time. Carpe brownies.
Brownies
4 oz unsweetened baker's chocolate
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350.
In a small bowl, beat eggs, then add vanilla.
In another small bowl, combine flour and salt.
Melt butter and chocolate in a saucepan.
Turn off heat.
Add sugar to saucepan and stir til dissolved.
Temper egg mixture with a bit of the chocolate/sugar, then add to saucepan and stir thoroughly.
Add flour/salt to saucepan and stir til combined.
Bake in a 9" x 9" pan for 30 minutes.

want me to leave you a key to our house? you will have to clean the mouse crap off the top of the stove (becuase no matter how many Fing times I clean it they shit on it again) and you may have to push some camping stuff out of the way...actually I work from home tomorrow, come make brownies!
You are the fourth person I know to have made brownies this week. We made ours on Tuesday. It was damn hot...but we turned our oven on anyway. Carpe diem. Hot or not! :)
