We got to borrow Jessica for a couple of days this week. We had plans to go visit Jon's mom on the Cape, so off we went to the beach, only to find out that JESSICA HAS NEVER BEEN TO THE BEACH! This is pretty much unfathomable to me, and I have made it my mission to take this child to as many beaches as she can stand for the rest of the summer.

We lucked into one of the most perfect beach days ever. Perfect weather, perfect water, lots of fun. I remembered that this particular beach was a pretty good shell picking beach, but I had never seen anything like the deep line of shells stretching down the beach that day.

Rowan says it's the mermaids who put the shells on the beach. She should know. I hear she's got a bit of mermaid blood herself.

*sigh* looks heavenly :) how far a drive is it to your nearest beach?

You know, I'm tallying those up for our "pick a home location" quest ;)

The one we usually go to is about 40 minutes away. That's Duxbury beach - not on the cape - which is the beach I spent the most time on as a kid. My mil's house on the cape is about 50 mins-an hour away.

I could never live so far away from the ocean that I couldn't just pick up and go whenever I want.

40 Minutes, nice. And I love the cape. Tim and I keep going back and forth, him with low cost of living, and me with coasts and water. It's a bit of a tug-o-war. ;)

Much as you know I'd love to, I can't really argue with him on the cost of living thing!

Ooh, ooh...you can get both if you come west to the beaches. Only 45 minutes from Corvallis to the coast. ;-)

Hey! No trying to lure the Traaseths even further away from us on my blog!
