Ok, ya, Jon dyed Dagny's hair and it's very cool and everything, but what I really like about this picture?

It shows Dagny's constellation. See the triangle? Three perfect little freckles. Makes me want to play dot to dot and squeeze her really tight.

I've named this necklace "Moon". What I was thinking about when I made it was how my dad used to come into my room after I went to bed and say, "Flower, come see the moon!" and I would go with him in my pajamas to see the moon shining out in the night sky. But that seemed like a long name for a simple little necklace.

Today's yumminess:

Blueberry Cornbread

(Preheat oven to 350)

Butter to grease pan
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk or vanilla yogurt
1 egg
1/4 cup sugar or honey
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries

Grease an 8" square pan with butter.

Combine the dry ingredients. Combine the wet ingredients. Stir the wet into the dry, mixing just enough to thoroughly combine.

Fold in blueberries.

Spread into the prepared pan.

Bake 20 minutes.

So far I'm the only one eating it, but that's ok with me.

Timmy thought decorating eggs was cool and everything, but not nearly as cool as finding out Uncle Jon has a Star Wars game for the Wii.

I think I've mentioned that I have a list of what Rowan calls my 'old dead guys I have a crush on'. (An accurate description.) John Holt and Mr. Rogers top the list, but Bob Ross is way up there. You can imagine my excitement when I found out I can watch him on the intornets any old time I want! I feel like a happy little bush dancing in the sunshine.

Uncle Mo brought out his sketchpad and quickly, deftly, drew the dolphins leaping in the air. He said, "They remind you of being a child, with all that curiosity and energy. They remind you that this is what you could be, not what you should grow out of."

My niece Amy is a knitwit. She's combining knitting with needle-felting to make all sorts of pretties.

There's these little guys, pretty little pants and sleepers and diaper covers...wanna see it all? It's just a click away.

Seems like about time for another recipe.

Kugel is a noodle dish, but there are all sorts of variations. Sweet kugel, savory kugel, kugel with fruit in it (yuck). Each side of Jon's family has their own recipe. The one I've adopted comes from Jon's mom, aka Grandma Carolyn. It's a sweet kugel, but Jon and I like to sprinkle it with a little salt.

I have to say it doesn't look very appetizing while you're making it. It's kind of a strange combination of ingredients. We all love it, though, and it's a staple in our fridge.

Grandma Carolyn's Kugel

12 oz medium egg noodles

¾ lb cottage cheese

4 eggs – well beaten

1 ½ teaspoons salt

1 ½ cups sour cream

1 ½ cups applesauce

4 oz butter, cut up

¾ cup sugar

Cook the noodles, then drain and rinse. Combine with the remaining ingredients and pour into a 9 x 13 baking dish.

Bake @ 350 for 45 mins to 1 hour.

I'm thinking about sending my kids to school. So many people have brought up so many good points over the years. They're all coming together in my head and making me see the error of my ways.

April Fools.
