I've named this necklace "Moon". What I was thinking about when I made it was how my dad used to come into my room after I went to bed and say, "Flower, come see the moon!" and I would go with him in my pajamas to see the moon shining out in the night sky. But that seemed like a long name for a simple little necklace.

Today's yumminess:
Blueberry Cornbread
(Preheat oven to 350)
Butter to grease pan
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk or vanilla yogurt
1 egg
1/4 cup sugar or honey
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
Grease an 8" square pan with butter.
Combine the dry ingredients. Combine the wet ingredients. Stir the wet into the dry, mixing just enough to thoroughly combine.
Fold in blueberries.
Spread into the prepared pan.
Bake 20 minutes.
So far I'm the only one eating it, but that's ok with me.

Kugel is a noodle dish, but there are all sorts of variations. Sweet kugel, savory kugel, kugel with fruit in it (yuck). Each side of Jon's family has their own recipe. The one I've adopted comes from Jon's mom, aka Grandma Carolyn. It's a sweet kugel, but Jon and I like to sprinkle it with a little salt.
I have to say it doesn't look very appetizing while you're making it. It's kind of a strange combination of ingredients. We all love it, though, and it's a staple in our fridge.
Grandma Carolyn's Kugel
12 oz medium egg noodles
¾ lb cottage cheese
4 eggs – well beaten
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 ½ cups sour cream
1 ½ cups applesauce
4 oz butter, cut up
¾ cup sugar
Bake @ 350 for 45 mins to 1 hour.
